Detailed Look at Mark Gonzales' adidas Aloha Super "Karol Winthorp" Colorway
A homage to the ‘Krooked Khronicles’ skate film from 2006.
While mostly quiet throughout Summer/Fall 2020 in terms of his output of collaborations, Mark Gonzales is ready to drive more energy and attention to this adidas lineage with a brand now Aloha Super colorway. Anointed with the “Karol Winthorp” moniker, this darker-toned variation is influenced by the pseudonym that Gonzales adopted when he debuted as a casting director for iconic skate film Krooked Kronichles back in 2006.
Subtle as can be, this low-profile offering engineers its uppers with smooth suedes, leather stripes and throat overlays and synthetic tongues, all of which are draped in a muted “Bark” hue. Baby blue accents maneuver over the branded hits placed atop the heels and the tongues, the former splitting between the skater’s initials on the left side and “KW” on the right foot to nod to his aforementioned alias.
The midsole area is constructed with a cloudy tint, and rounded off down below with “Vapour Pink” treading.
If you’re looking to add this makeup to your rotation, you can find these dropping via adidas UK on December 11 for £85 (approx. $103 USD). A North America release date has yet to be confirmed by adidas.
