Known for its relationship with street-adjacent brands like Supreme and NEIGHBORHOOD, Japanese magazine SENSE often issues exclusive items from favored brands through its BLACK SENSE MARKET web store. Such is the case for a special T-shirt design cooked up by UNDERCOVER and HYSTERIC GLAMOUR, an ode to an original graphic created back in 2007.
13 years ago, this design appeared on a guitar pick necklace that was included as a free gift with an issue of SENSE; now, it’s envisioned atop a black and white UNDERCOVER T-shirt and sports logos from both legacy streetwear brands. Co-branding elevates the flower and skull imagery on the rear, while “YOU MOTHER FLOWER” riffs off a famous pejorative. Along with the shirt, SENSE is gifting a matching mask in its newest issue as a timely collectible, celebrating independent design amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Shop the limited edition shirts on BLACK SENSE MARKET’s web store for ¥12,000 JPY (approximately $115 USD).
