RHUDE and Starter Join Forces For New Throwback-Inspired Apparel Collection
Blending elements of modern streetwear with vintage apparel silhouettes.
Following his recent Puma Hoops sneaker project with first-time NBA champion Kyle Kuzma, Rhuigi Villaseñor is reverting back to his bread and butter of designing clothes for his next partnership. Next in line for the LA-based creative is a collaboration with sports-influenced imprint Starter for a duo of apparel releases.
The collection can be summarized as a reflection of past meets present. Starter’s iconic quarter-zip anoraks, varsity jackets upgraded with leather sleeves, and pinstripe hats — which would normally be adorned with that of a sports team’s logo and colors — serve as the canvas for Villaseñor to apply his signature touch. Atop various products in the assortment, the RHUDE moniker is brought to the forefront and remixed in Starter’s vintage-esque font. Furthermore, the athletic company’s ever-recognizable star logo nestles itself into the center of this branded hit to further nod to the joint venture.
The look book itself — which can be viewed above — effectively communicates the essence of this collaboration as the models seen rocking the pieces are styled emblematic of the 90’s fashion scene.
The collection will hit the market on two different occasions, the first of which will occur on November 27th through Foot Locker, while the second is slated to go down on the Greenhouse app come November 30th. Prices will range from $45 USD for the pinstriped hat to $295 for a wool varsity jacket.
In recent memory, RHUDE recently created its own range of apparel that celebrated the Los Angeles Lakers winning the 2020 NBA Finals.
