After bringing Shawn Kemp‘s famous Kamikaze II out of the archives in two OG colorways — black/white and black/white/green — earlier this year, Reebok is looking to the alternate uniforms of Kemp’s Seattle SuperSonics for a “Mars Red” colorway. A brand-new style that Kemp never wore on the NBA court, the “Mars Red” is colorful in its hues, visceral in its design and packed chock-full of special details.

Uppers are constructed of rich red suede and supple black leather, the former of which appears on the base layer while the latter coats the signature zig-zagging overlays. Reebok Vector logos on the forefoot, heel, tongue and outsole alike take on a mixture of green and yellow, and the tongue also serves up a cloudy graphic for a nod to Kemp’s “Reign Man” moniker. The tubular bottom eyelet is split between “Kami” and “Kazi” on the right and left foot, and Kemp’s #40 is placed above each toebox. Special characters grace each heel tab and insole, with dark green collar detailing and two-tone red/black midsoles with DMX cushioning rounding off the look.

The Reebok Kamikaze II “Mars Red” will release on the Reebok webstore come November 20, and is priced at $120 USD.
