Bremont Pays Tribute to Stephen Hawking With Trio of Timepieces
Created in collaboration with Hawking’s family.

Celebrating one of its country’s greatest thinkers, British luxury watchmaker Bremont has created a new limited-edition collection in tribute to physicist Sir Stephen Hawking, made in collaboration with the acclaimed scientist’s estate.
Measuring 41mm in diameter, all three cases come in the brand’s Trip-Tick construction using three separate pieces, and are available in steel, rose gold, or white gold, the former two paired with sleek black dials while the latter plays with a deep blue option. The dials themselves carry a date window right below 12 o’clock as well as a unique 120-degree small seconds down by 6 o’clock, offering perfect balance and symmetry. Powering the timepiece is then a modified calibre 11 1/2” BE-33-AE automatic movement carrying a 42-hour power reserve, and inlaid with wooden discs taken from Hawking’s very own desk.
“Professor Stephen Hawking was arguably one of the most preeminent scientists of the last hundred years,” says Nick English, Bremont’s co-founder. “We wanted to celebrate this incredible man’s life and his fascinating relationship with time.”
“The story has added personal significance for myself and Nick,” added Giles English, brother to Nick English and also co-founder of the brand. “Our father knew of Stephen Hawking, having been to St Albans School together, a couple of years apart, and following the same path to Cambridge University.”
For those interested, the Bremont Hawking Collection is now available over on the watchmaker’s website, with prices ranging from $9,995 to $23,495 USD.
Elsewhere in watches, Longines has reimagined its Legend Diver in vintage bronze.
