As we power through another week, HYPEBEAST has rounded up a carefully curated list of Music Projects You Missed This Week.
This selection includes collaborations from Rich The Kid and NBA YoungBoy, SG Lewis and Lucky Daye, Boldy James and Stove God Cooks and Blxst and Dom Kennedy, plus full-length releases from SAINt JHN and Scribz Riley. IDK also delivers his brand new single “2 Cents” while Yves Tumor revisits April 2020’s Heaven to a Tortured Mind with a visual for “Kerosene!”
SAINt JHN - WHILE THE WORLD WAS BURNING
The Brooklyn-born Guyanese artist has dropped off his Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs followup, WHILE THE WORLD WAS BURNING. The 12-track project features a range of high-profile collaborations with the likes of Kanye West, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, 6LACK, DaBaby and more.
Yves Tumor – “Kerosene!”
Yves Tumor is revisiting April 2020’s Heaven to a Tortured Mind with an accompanying visual for “Kerosene!,” directed by Cody Critcheloe a.k.a. SSION. The video focuses on a volatile love triangle that stands on arousal, jealousy and lust, pointing towards an abstract narrative that’s reflective of untamed human desire.
Rich The Kid x NBA YoungBoy – “Automatic”
Rich The Kid and NBA YoungBoy shared a brand new music video for “Automatic,” a cut from their recent collaborative project, Nobody Safe. The pair reflects on the trials and tribulations of success on the track, also showing off their better quality of life.
Boldy James x Stove God Cooks – “Thousand Pills”
Boldy James enlisted the help of Stove God Cooks to deliver the subtle yet menacing cut “Thousand Pills.” The track serves a single off his upcoming album Real Bad Boldy — his fourth full-length release this 2020 following The Price of Tea in China, Manger on McNichols and The Versace Tape.
IDK – “2 Cents”
Artist/producer IDK shared his catchy new single “2 Cents” with an accompanying visual co-directed by Anthony Sylvester and IDK himself. The Maryland visionary cheekily touches on the people in his life “scheming on the low” as he navigates the perils of fame and deals with the challenges of success.
Scribz Riley - Wish Me Luck
East London’s Scribz Riley is stepping into the spotlight with his debut EP, Wish Me Luck. The R&B/rap artist is joined by Kaash Paige, Headie One, KWN, JADA and 6LACK for the 10-track album, which serves as an interesting introduction to Riley.
Blxst x Dom Kennedy – “Got It All”
Blxst is gearing up for the release of the deluxe version of No Love Lost with the Dom Kennedy-assisted cut “Got It All.” The extended EP will continue to explore Blxst’s exploration of love and relationships in Los Angeles, and will feature a number of new cuts and notable collabs.
SG Lewis x Lucky Daye – “Feed The Fire”
SG Lewis and Lucky Daye have delivered a visual for “Feed The Fire.” The track is taken from the British producer’s upcoming album times — dropping February 2021 — and will include previous releases “Chemicals” and “Impact” with Robyn and Channel Tres.
