Off-White™ Honors the Legacy of Design Legend Enzo Mari at Triennale Milano
Virgil Abloh has created an installation for the exhibition and two limited edition hoodies, available for sale now.
Off-White™ has announced its participation in Triennale Milano’s exhibition, Enzo Mari curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist with Francesca Giacomelli, which opened October 17. The show honors Mari’s work and influence in furniture design, modern art and critical theory and includes an installation by Virgil Abloh titled, “Modular Hooded Sweatshirt.” Two hoodies are also available for sale.
The “Modular Hooded Sweatshirt” installation is included in the historical section of the exhibition and offers the opportunity to sew your own hooded sweatshirt using a kit of provided materials: threads, needles, pins and sweatshirt swatches. The concept is inspired by Mari’s philosophy of Autoprogettazione, which encouraged a self-starting, DIY approach to design research and practice.
The “Triennale Enzo Mari” hoodie adapts Mari’s iconic graphics to a white pullover and is available to shop now via the brand’s webstore and in-store at Off-White™ Milan. The “Autoprogettazione” hoodie is exclusively available for purchase at the Triennale bookshop.
Enzo Mari curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist with Francesca Giacomelli — and the “Modular Hooded Sweatshirt” — is on view at Triennale Milano until April 18, 2021.
