A Closer Look at Lucien Clarke’s Louis Vuitton Skate Shoe
The wait is (almost) over…

Following an abundance of colorway reveals on Instagram, Lucien Clarke’s skate shoe in collaboration with Louis Vuitton has officially been unveiled. Clarke — who initially teased the all-black colorway, followed by the white and orange — revealed a final third blue iteration on Instagram last month.
Working alongside Louis Vuitton Creative Director Virgil Abloh, “A View” — as the release has been entitled — is born out of Abloh’s ties to the community, and an expansion on the inherent bridge between the designer’s visual language and the functional genetics key to a pro skate wardrobe.
Evoking the familiarity of its 1990s frontrunners, “A View” has been constructed in technical textile and calf leather with reflective detailing, featuring a framework of technical foam and polyurethane sole cushioning. While it enters into the contemporary men’s wardrobe as an everyday staple, this adaptable shoe also enables its wearer to skate whenever and wherever they see fit.
Arriving in three colorways — black/orange, white/orange and blue, a drop date and retail price for “A View” is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
In other news, following an initial announcement HYPEBEAST sat down and tried to make sense of this much-anticipated and decisive collaboration.
