Converse Japan Coats the Chuck Taylor All Star Hi in Colorful Corduroy
Can we call these the “Con Wotherspoons?”
As part of its October release slate, Converse Japan has prepared a colorful, corduroy-coated Chuck Taylor All Star Hi. Giving off a Sean Wotherspoon-esque look with its bright assemblage of shades and textured material, the fresh design bequeaths a healthy dose of seasonally appropriate flair upon the century-old silhouette.
Both the lateral and medial sides of the upper are split into four distinct panels, and employ an asymmetrical colorblocking scheme for maximum impact. Black, yellow, red and powder blue all make their presence felt across the left and right feet, with both shoes brought together by tan tongues, white laces, silver eyestays and a signature Chuck Taylor All Star badge on the lateral collar. White rubber toe caps and white midsoles with black foxing complete the visible portion of the look. As is the case with many of Converse Japan’s Chucks, insoles are loaded with Nike‘s React foam to ensure a comfy fit.
The Converse Japan Chuck Taylor All Star Hi Corduory is available now via the Converse Japan webstore, and is priced at a tax-included ¥9,350 JPY (approximately $89 USD).
