'Space Jam 2' Monstars and Tune Squad Jerseys

With Space Jam 2 slated to release next summer, we now have our very first look at the basketball jerseys that both the Monstars and Tune Squad will be wearing in the anticipated sequel.

Shared via Nike and Jordan Brand insider @J23app, the Tune Squad’s jersey features a white base with red and blue accents on the collar and sleeve, while the Monstars’ blue base jersey is contrasted with orange details. Both of the team names are then showcased front and center, while Nike‘s Swoosh insignia is spotlighted on the right chest.

Additionally a Nike LeBron 17 “Monstars” colorway will be releasing as part of Nike Basketball’s All-Star collection.

Originally starring living basketball legend Michael Jordan, James will now take on the pivotal lead role, along with taking on executive producer duties, in the follow-up flick directed by Terence Nance. Black Panther director Ryan Coogler also joins the project as a producer. “I loved his vision for Black Panther,” James said. “So for Ryan to be able to bring that to kids, it’s amazing.” James’ production company Springhill Entertainment and Warner Bros. will also help to produce the film.

The ‘96 classic saw Jordan team up with the Looney Tunes to take on the Monstars in a game of basketball. In addition to James for the sequel, Eric Bauza will reportedly be taking over the roles of Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd from Billy West. The premise for Space Jam 2 have yet to be revealed but keep it locked here for when they surface.

Space Jam 2 began filming last summer and is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 16, 2021.
