Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5 Revealed at Paris Fashion Week
Virgil Abloh introduced the shoes during his label’s Fall/Winter 2020 runway show.

Following months of rumors, Virgil Abloh officially revealed the Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5 at the Italian brand’s Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020 runway show. This marks Off-White™’s first Jordan Brand collaboration since June 2018’s Air Jordan 1 “UNC.”

Spotted on the feet of models and Abloh alike at the aforementioned Off-White™ runway show, the classic Air Jordan silhouette is presented in a colorway similar to the OG “Black Metallic,” but is markedly different in its construction. Uppers are composed of a thin synthetic TPE material — in line with Abloh’s previous “Ghosting” releases — and add tonal circular overlays that tie in with Off-White™’s cut-out womenswear items. Silver tongues are thinned out and equipped with a red Jumpman logo. Traditional flair is then provided by a #23 hit on the lateral counter, Nike Air emblazoned on the heel and the recognizable plastic netting on the quarter, all hallmarks of the AJ5.
Abloh’s signature Helvatica text is splayed across the medial midfoot, with “SHOELACES” printed on the lace tips and a black iteration of Off-White™’s plastic hangtag attached to one of the eyestays. Finishing touches are provided by speckled grey detailing on the P-51 Mustang-inspired midsole, and the outsole’s normal translucent panels are pre-yellowed to give off a worn-in look.
A release date has yet to be announced, but the Off-White™ Air Jordan 5 has been speculated to arrive in February around NBA All-Star Weekend or April, with a retail price of $225 USD.
