Following its FW19 lookbook, Tokyo-based label ARCHON has returned with its SS20 showcase, highlighting an assemblage of breathable mid-layers bolstered with a bevy of technical details. Featured are silhouettes like beige mac coats, tactical vests, flight jackets, cobra belts, heavy-duty harnesses and graphic T-shirts, to name a few.
Dubbed “Rebuild,” a key theme in this season’s collection is reconstruction, highlighting the label’s penchant for tailoring, disassembling and modifying utilitarian garments. One noteworthy piece is a tactical harness made from a series of durable ripstop nylon and hefty belt buckles. The straps wrap over the shoulders, mid-body and waist, elongated for extra detailing. Another highlight is a multi-paneled jacket, reminiscent of old skiwear from the ’90s. Its ripstop detailing and light, durable fabrics suggest a modernized iteration of the retro silhouette. Black panels are placed at the shoulders and outer-sleeves, contrasted against light teal, yellow and forest green accents that make up the rest of the jacket. Other garments like the asymmetrical cargo pants, hooded shirts, neon-hued vests, V-neck long-sleeves and nylon trousers round up the expansive range.
