Levi's Enlists Futura Laboratories for a 'Pointman'-Adorned Denim Capsule
Reworking logos with the artist’s iconic insignia.
Levi’s follows on from its Art Basel Miami pop-up retail concept Levi’s Haus Miami with the release of a Futura Laboratories collaboration.
This limited-edition capsule is comprised of three Levi’s staples: the trucker jacket, 501 jeans and a white T-shirt. Redefining this true American look, Futura has added iconography that is associated with his Pointman figure all over the pieces, which are set to release in celebration for Chinese New Year.
It is said that Futura is fond of the Levi’s Trucker Jacket, having used the essential workwear item in his previous works. The artist has opted for light denim, adding distressing and Pointman hands and figures to the jacket. The 501s sport a similar hand-design towards the upper leg and hip, with Futura’s insignia gracing the rear right leg and a reworked leather jacron patch that now combines the original Levi’s logo with the artist’s own.
Continuing the tradition is a white T-shirt that plays on Levi’s classic logo, adding a red square around a blue logo-stamp with additional Pointman hands on the front and the Futura Laboratories logo on the rear.
