New 'Doom Eternal' Trailer Showcases Single-Player Campaign
Fast-paced action with a lot of hacking and slashing.
After delaying the game’s release until 2020, Bethesda and developer iD has now dropped a second trailer for the upcoming Doom Eternal shooter, giving fans a closer look at the title’s single-player campaign.
While much of the trailer — which you can view above — introduces fans to the storyline of the upcoming Doom sequel, there’s also plenty footage showcasing the game’s fast-paced and brutal gameplay elements, something Doom fans no doubt prioritise. Aside from featuring a new Gladiator enemy and an updated Marauder, the trailer also depicts a whole range of monster-shredding weapons the Slayer has at his disposal, including the highly-anticipated Crucible sword, which got its own glory kill scene. Unfortunately there’s no footage of the new asymmetrical Slayer-versus-demons multiplayer mode, but fans can be sure to expect that in a future trailer.
After its previous delay, Bethesda and id’s Doom Eternal will hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 20. A Nintendo Switch version will also follow shortly. Fans of the franchise should definitely stay tuned for more updates to come.
