Nike Debuts New Golf-Ready Air Max 97 in Iconic "Silver Bullet" Colorway
Hitting the links never looked so good.

Nike Golf has aimed to bridge the gap between the links and the streets with its products over the past few years, and the latest result of that fusion is the Air Max 97 G. A course-ready version of the Air Max 97, the AM97 G is set to make its debut in a “Silver Bullet” colorway, a clear nod to the OG AM97’s most famous style.
Dubbed “Le Silver” by its legions of adoring fans in Italy when it first appeared in 1997, the Christian Tresser-designed “Silver Bullet” is lauded to this day for its sleek lines, stark shape and metallic colorway The upper and midsole remain unchanged on the 97 G, with swooping overlays, red Swooshes, a full-foot Air Max cushioning unit and the mesh/synthetic construction all present. The only difference arrives via the outsole, which offers a large red Swoosh and a toothed tread patter for enhanced grip on the fairways or — if you’re unlucky — the rough and sandtraps.
Following in the footsteps of other performance-turned-lifestyle-turned golf silhouettes like the Air Max 1 G and Air Jordan 11 Low G, this 97 G bucks conventional wisdom of what golf footwear can be, and offers an appealing, fresh-yet familiar style in the process. It’ll release January 16 on the Nike webstore, A retail price has yet to be announced.
On the Nike Sportswear front, the Swoosh Brand is celebrating Chinese New Year with an extensive “Year of the Rat” collection.
