Nike Debuts Air Max 1 in New York Chinatown-Inspired Colorway
Complete with embroidered Chollima detailing.
After dropping an Air Max 1 Premium to celebrate Chinese New Year, Nike has returned to the silhouette for a colorway inspired by New York’s Chinatown. The sneaker’s upper is constructed from black suede panelling, which contrasts with bright red sections, a light blue trim and a golden tongue.
Arguably the stand-out detail is the gold embroidered Chollima character on the heel, a reference to a prominent winged horse taken from Chinese mythology. Elsewhere, the sneaker features Chinese characters on the tongue, a firework display-inspired footbed and a brightly colored outsole.
