Robert Pattinson & Willem Dafoe Go Mad in New 'The Lighthouse' Trailer
The latest visual masterpiece from Robert Eggers.
After receiving standing ovations at both the Cannes and Toronto Film Festival, A24 has now dropped a second trailer for its upcoming visual masterpiece The Lighthouse.
The psychodrama stars Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson — in a pair of career-topping performances — as two lighthouse keepers who are living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s. The period piece soon begins to delve deeper into the hallucinations and unexplainable events that the pair are experiencing, interjecting shots of Pattinson and Dafoe going mad and rambling at each other, with images of a giant octopus and other cryptic scenes.
The Lighthouse marks Robert Eggers‘ sophomore effort, the filmmaker and screenwriter know for 2015’s horror hit The Witch. Check out the latest trailer for The Lighthouse above, which looks to solidify Eggers as one of today’s most exciting directors. The film arrives October 18.
