The limited-quantities overcoat heavily reflects upon Simons’ reference to David Lynch’s 1986 film Blue Velvet, incorporating black-and-white and blue-negative imagery from the seminal movie. One key photographic patch captures the dance scene in which Jeffrey professes his love to Sandy, while the rest of the coat channels a military-meets-punk theme thanks to its bold leopard print design and minimalist, long-line cut.
Other notable military references seen in the overcoat include its pointed collar and concealed front button fastening, as well as the dropped shoulder and removable waist buckle belt, which is complete with metal hardware.
