Get An Up Close Look at the Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-SS2020 Collection
With translucent sneakers and Renaissance-inspired outerwear.

We first saw the Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Spring/Summer 2020 collection back in June. Recently, the brand unveiled an intimate presentation of the collection in Singapore. The Virgil Abloh-designed men’s pieces include updates on the house’s signature bags, as well as outerwear and knitwear and, of course, sneakers.
One of the most striking pieces in the collection is the translucent take on the LV 408 Sneaker. The see-through high-top shoes include white laces and (somewhat) subtle Louis Vuitton branding throughout. The collection also puts an emphasis on accessories such as jewelry and bags, with pieces like necklaces utilizing Abloh’s signature chain link motif.
Additionally, the presenation showcased colorful keychains, belts and caps in tones of red, blue and green. Abloh has also continued to offer new bag options for the men’s line, with updated takes on Louis Vuitton’s classic Mini Trunk, Keepall and Treasure Pack.
As far as the apparel itself, Abloh took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance with knitwear utilizng images from Raphael paintings. The motifs appeared on chunky, oversized outerwear such as a bomber jacket and trench coat.
Louis Vuitton recently released another bag collection as well, with the “New Classics” collection. As the name implies, the collection from Virgil Abloh focuses on modernized versions of iconic Louis Vuitton bags, rendered here in matte black.
Abloh also recently announced a temporary break from fashion. The designer will take a three-month medical leave and has already canceled certain public appearances, such as the upcoming Off-White™ Spring/Summer 2020 show in Paris.
