The Japanese denim experts at FDMTL have applied their skills to a custom Porsche Carrera 911, submitted as an entry to the annual “Wrap Like a King” competition. The wrap’s unique design combines gold, forest green, brown and black camouflage with contrasting white details that mimic the stitching patterns of traditional Japanese Sashiko needlework, key tenets of the Japanese brand’s clothing designs, as seen in its recent patchwork-heavy Spring/Summer 2019 collection. .
The “Wrap Like a King” competition, hosted by Avery Dennison, is an open call for car enthusiasts to submit their wrap jobs for the chance to win some cash and the Wrap King title, all while showcasing their thoughtful approach to customization. FDMTL’s custom Porsche 911 wrap keeps in line with the brand’s ethos of subverting mass production through thoughtful, hands-on craftsmanship. Special details like SWF Brushed Black mirrors and front light grills take the rework to the next level, while an overall SWF Diamond Amber double-layered gloss over-laminate creates a metallic look that highlights the car’s sleek body.
