With plenty of reworked denim and Vans collaborations under its belt, Japan’s FDMTL returns for Spring/Summer 2019 with a fresh array of patchwork goods. Layers of stitched-up indigo mesh with militaristic outerwear and summer-friendly staples for a uniquely Japanese take on warm weather styling.
FDMTL standards are revised for the hot season, with the brand’s classic boro (Japanese upcycled patchwork) applied to a coaches, trucker jacket, chore coat and shirt and jeans set. Sashiko detailing (rows of dense, organized stitches) accents several jackets and pants, lending unmissable texture to the staple pieces. Vintage washes yield summer-friendly colors, with playful graphic T-shirts and dry cotton shorts for when the heat becomes too excessive for denim.
