FDMTL Rejoins Vans for Patchwork Slip-Ons & Authentics

Japanese patchwork experts FDMTL reunite with Vans for another collaborative drop. Following the recent patchwork slide sandals, the partners issue another set of sneakers, centering around the Classic Slip-On and Authentic silhouettes. Heavy-duty boro patches and sashiko stitching create dynamic layers over the uppers of each sneaker, available in raw indigo — worn-in, washed iterations are seen photographed next to their brand-new counterparts. Even the Authentic’s laces feature minute white sashiko detailing, creating a truly complete package.
The silhouettes launched in Europe last week and hit Japanese retailers like California Department on June 29.
Most recently, the Vans Slip-On emerged in an all-over print featuring the flags of the world.
