Samuel Ross of A-COLD-WALL* fame has announced his latest venture, the design-led SR_A (Samuel Ross & Associates). Ross presented the venture at the Hublot Prize exhibition in the Serpentine Gallery, showcasing objects such as the Concave 1 steel bench and the Terminal 1.

The 5th edition of the Hublot Design Prize also awarded the Pierre Keller Award to Marion Pinaffo and Raphaël Pluvinage. Hublot made a statement about why they chose Sam Ross for the prize, saying “his incredible energy, the remarkable collaborative approach to his work; combining object design, social design and garment design, and his ability to use them as mediums of connectivity.”

Described as a ‘progressive study of design and practical experience creation,’ the project is more in line with CONCRETE OBJECTS, which was last seen teaming up with Nike to create the resting area, start and finish gantries as well as clothing for Hackney half marathon.

In other news, POP Trading Company has collaborated with Popeye on a capsule collection.
