Earlier this month Converse Stars Japan released a capsule with Dragon Ball, and now it taps another Akira Toriyama creation in the upcoming collection with Dr. Slump.

The “happy and colorful new brand born from Converse” continues its collaborative manga collections this time around with the release of Dr. Slump-adorned sweatshirts, long-sleeve T-shirts, caps and socks. Much like its Dragon Ball collection, the garments are delivered in simple colorways such as black and white, while using colors such as pink and purple to highlight branding.

Throughout the Dr. Slump collection, Converse has spotlighted the lead character Arale Norimaki — a super-strength robot girl whose naïve nature and exploits around Penguin Village find her on numerous comic adventures at the expense of her inventor, Senbei Norimaki. Standout pieces include a sweatshirt featuring a large graphic of Norimaki on the rear, which is then overlayed with her name and Converse Stars’ branding, while subtle items such as the socks and caps feature clean dual branding in contrasting colors.

The Dr. Slump x Converse Stars Japan capsule collection is priced from ¥ 1,800 JPY to ¥ 8,800 JPY (approx. $17 USD – $83 USD) and can be pre-ordered online now for delivery in early October.

In other news, UNIQLO UT has enlisted the artist Yoon Hyup for a Mickey Mouse capsule.
