Givenchy Reworks the Classic Derby Shoe With a Gleaming Iridescent Upgrade
Drawing inspiration from the ’90s.
Following its surprise collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger, Givenchy has returned with its latest iterated footwear piece, this time taking on a more formal silhouette – a glossy set of iridescent derbys. This particular model is set on a sleek leather foundation with iridescent hues shining on a bevy of details.
Drawing inspiration from shimmering palettes of the ’90s, the shoes are characterized by its multi-colored coating that dominates the uppers. Complemented by a thin black topline, debossed “GIVENCHY” branding is placed near the eyelets, on the quarter panel. Made in Italy, the footwear piece sees a slightly articulated forefoot, removing the throat line for a smoother, more seamless finish. All of these features sit atop a blacked-out midsole that comes with a raised heel.
