FMB DZ Keeps His Momentum Going with New Video for "The Run 2"
Detroit’s current movement shows no signs of slowing down.
Back in April, FMB DZ released a music video for “Loyalty,” a highlight off his 2018 full-length project The Gift 2. Now, the Detroit rapper is back with another new visual; this time around, FMB DZ is teaming up with director Djuan Graves for the official “The Run 2” video.
“It’s different styles, different approaches, it’s like life. Everybody got a different motive,” FMB DZ explained to Passion of the Weiss during a 2018 interview, breaking down his artistic approach and “Ghetto Boogie” style. “With rap, you can be a hustling motherf*cker, a violent motherf*cker, or you can be a crybaby ass motherf*cker. You can go different ways with the music. You see me and 80s, where we separate at, my brother 80s is a hustler. That boy all he talk about is getting that money for real. We both got some hustle bones in us, but if we were twins, I’d be the evil twin, you know what I’m saying? That’s how it go.”
“I been listening to a lot of artists that’s around. I been taking different trips to Atlanta, so I’m kinda liking the Atlanta sound,” FMB DZ adds, revealing his current influences. “I’ve been listening to what they’ve been talking about. I’ve been listening to the Gunna, to the Lil Baby. I’ve been looking at Moneybagg [Yo], you know he from Memphis though. I just been looking at a lot of different artists and listening. There’s a lot of shit going on in the world man, and we gotta tap in and get to it. I’ve been listening to a lot of South Rap, a lot of rappers out of Florida. I been listening to a lot of shit lately.”
