J.I.D Joins Aloe Blacc for New 'Hobbs & Shaw' Single "Getting Started"
A new addition to the ‘Fast & Furious’ spin-off’s soundtrack.
Fresh off his multiple standout appearances on Dreamville’s star-studded Revenge of the Dreamers III project, J.I.D is linking up with Aloe Blacc for a new collaborative single titled “Getting Started.”
Notably, “Getting Started” was initially created for the NBC series Songland and is set to featured in the forthcoming Fast & Furious spin-off film Hobbs & Shaw.
“I’m looking for a song that’s inspirational and motivational but also the right kind of vibe for the film Hobbs and Shaw,” Blacc originally explained. “We need something super anthemic, something with a swagger,” Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch added.
“[It's] about somebody that’s worked their whole life, that’s put in the blood, sweat, and tears and finally achieved something and now they are not standing down and they’re just getting started,” Kyle Williams, the primary songwriter behind “Getting Started,” shares.
“I hate being so generic but the shit is true though, bro, like, n***s been saying like, ‘Alright, you got to be consistent, you know what I’m saying, and find out what you want to do,’” J.I.D shared with us during a November 2018 episode of our MIC/LINE podcast, sharing some insight into his creative process. “I hate saying shit like that but it’s really the f*cking truth.”
