The collaborative silhouette has been updated with antique Japanese boro textiles dating back to the Meiji era in the late 1800s, all hand-crafted by Hong Kong-based leather specialists Simple Union. The delicate pieces of fabric have then been applied to both the lateral and medial sides of Tricker’s vintage oxford model, helping to elevate the look of the 190-year-old leather shoe brand.
Elsewhere the English brand’s unique Olivia leather makes up the majority of the shoe’s construction in navy blue, while each pair is finished off with a commando sole. Additionally, each pair is unique with art applied to each model by hand, resulting in subtle differences between the oxfords.
The special Tricker’s Vintage Oxford will be made available starting July 11 at a four-day pop-up in Hong Kong and over at Simple Union’s site.
