Renowned footwear artist ANT KAI has unveiled a custom take on the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14, dubbed “MOSS.” This handcrafted design reimagines the runner’s aesthetic with a finish inspired by moss-covered rocks, blending organic textures with technical construction.
The sneaker’s gray mesh base is layered with a burlap-like fabric, serving as the canvas for hand-stitched moss embroidery. ASICS’ iconic Tiger Stripes are reinterpreted in moss-textured material along the lateral sides, extending onto the toe to complete the botanical motif.
To balance the lush, natural elements, metallic silver overlays are intentionally distressed with scuffed marks, adding a rugged layer of patina and wear to the design. The bespoke sneaker is completed with heavy-duty rope laces and painted, mismatched heel panels that thoughtfully complement the overall color palette.
