Blondey McCoy is a man of many talents. With plenty of clout in both the art world and fashion world — the latter in part to his label, Thames — the nearly 22 year-old skater may be rejoining his pals at adidas for a collaborative twist on one of his favorite silhouettes. As revealed by Japanese sneaker leaker US11, McCoy will soon introduce his own take on the Superstar, complete with personalized branding.
Though it’s not his first time remaking a classic adidas silhouette, it is McCoy’s first customized Superstar. A dark brown sole and toe complement the black Three Stripes branding and heel accent, with white leather trim around the ankle and tongue to keep the shape of the shoe intact. The rest of the upper is rendered in see-through polyurethane, complete with minute ventilation holes and “BLONDEY” verbiage. The insole appears to sport a ridged texture, bereft of any co-branding.
Take a first look at the new silhouette below via leaked imagery and McCoy’s own Instagram post and expect release information to slowly trickle out later this year.
Meanwhile, adidas recently introduced official imagery of Tyshawn Jones’ Pro sneaker, the German brand’s latest signature shoe.
