Epic Games announced a new initiative that rewards Fortnite players with free skins for watching matches on YouTube. The Drops feature allows players to earn special edition Fortnite cosmetics when they link their Epic Games account to their YouTube profile and watch certain Fortnite-related events. Although a similar system has been tethered to the title and Twitch in the past, this announcement comes a week prior to the Fornite World Cup, which is sure to have a large YouTube audience.

The collected prize pool is $30 million USD, while top players will have an opportunity to win $3 million USD solo. To gain cosmetics, players need to watch 20 minutes of the broadcast to receive a Drop, with the first opportunity being July 25 at 12:30 p.m. EST for the World Cup.

To tie your Epic Games account to your YouTube account, you must sign-in on a desktop, go to Accounts, Settings, then the “Connected accounts” tab and choose Epic Games.

The forthcoming matches that will feature Drops include:

7/25 – Game Jam Hollywood premiere
7/26 – Fortnite World Cup Finals Day 1 live broadcast
7/27 – Fortnite World Cup Finals Day 2 live broadcast
7/28 – Fortnite World Cup Finals Day 3 live broadcast
