adidas Releases FYW S-97 in Retro Patterned Colorways
The late ’90s shoe takes cues from notebook covers.
After appearing in several muted colorways, the recently-revived adidas FYW S-97 has been granted a set of appropriately retro-indebted makeups. Offered in warm- or cool- toned shades, the throwback silhouette is elevated with bold textural patterns on its upper.
Clean white midsoles and touches of beige suede offer versatile counterpoints to the shoes’ more overt detailing, which ranges from splashes of blue and “Semi-Coral” to the splotchy pattern that streaks around the upper, reminiscent of the notebook covers of yesteryear. Further contrast comes by way of black outsoles and embroidered adidas Equipment branding on the tongue, all utilizing tonal accents to keep the playful design grounded in wearability.
The new FYW S-97 colorways hit adidas’ web store and select stockists on August 8 for $140 USD.
Elsewhere, Y-3 gave the FYW S-97 an appropriately moody upgrade.
