Carried by tastemaking stores like Totokaelo and Japan’s 1LDK, London-based Studio Nicholson has quietly developed a cult following hungry for its effortless, understated garments. Nick Wakeman founded the label with the intention of providing men and women with the tools to build a modular wardrobe, a concept fulfilled by every collection since its founded — Fall/Winter 2019 doesn’t stray from that initiative.

Packed with slight revisions to essential seasonal items, the collection is rife with elegant layering pieces and silhouette-defining trousers, a Nicholson staple. Trim knitwear and relaxed shirting provides the basis for cropped work jackets and slim sweaters, occasionally topped by a substantial wool chore jacket or mac coat.

A heavy wool trench and long A-line coats reinforce the range’s shapeliness, while sneakers crafted by Moonstar keep the looks casual. Pants are cut from neppy denim and sleek wool alike, with cuts ranging from volumnious pleated iterations to high-rise carrot cuts, all realized in ultra-versatile neutral tones.

The collection hits Studio Nicholson’s web store and stockists like SSENSE later this summer.
