Takeshi “Cherry” Ishida of Cherry Fukuoka possesses perhaps one of the most radically dynamic approaches to style in all of Japan. During Fashion Week events, Ishida is often seen wearing lurid colors and clashing prints alongside his friend Takashi Murakami, whom Ishida frequently styles. Otherwise, he’s content to wear bold looks consisting of new arrivals at his influential boutique.

Seen here during the opening of his friend’s “Murakami Vs. Murakami” exhibit in Hong Kong, Ishida showcased what amounts to a toned-down look — for him, at least. The creative director highlighted a diverse mix of brands and goods, juxtaposing a 99%IS- face mask and Sasquatchfabrix ear muff cap with FULL-BK sunglasses and Supreme‘s unforgettable Obama shirt from Spring/Summer 2017.

A Friends & Family Louis Vuitton shoulderbag personally gifted by Virgil Abloh, gold Cartier Love bracelet and Rolex Submariner enforce a luxurious motif, underlined by a couple complementary Chrome Hearts pieces. Specifically, a beaded bracelet and leather cross jean shorts, the latter of which is executed in all-black and sports a raw-hem applied by Ishida himself.

Rounding out the look, Ishida sported a limited edition RICOH FF-9 SD skeleton camera and the instantly-iconic Nike x Cactus Plant Flea Market VaporMax 19, abetted by graphic socks courtesy of UNDERCOVER MADSTORE.
