30th-Anniversary Air Jordan 4s Come in Vibrant Flyknit Colorways
Featuring “University Red” and “Hyper Royal.”
While Virgil Abloh has recently teased a spread of unreleased Off-White™ x Nike Air Jordan 4s samples at MCA Chicago, Nike is also revealing two other Air Jordan 4 colorways, constructed in brightly tinged Flyknit.
Nike has added Flyknit fabrication to the AJ4 in retrospect to the 30-year-old silhouette we saw on the feet of Michael Jordan during seasons ‘88-’89. The original mold of the sneaker is kept intact while offering up the new, highly breathable textile. The colorways come fully doused in either “University Red” or “Hyper Blue,” down to their soles. The upper includes criss-cross weaving that starts from the rear, runs through the lace cage and near the forefoot. Rubber Jumpman heel patches appear at the heel as well as the tongue. As a finishing touch, contrasting textures show up between the toe box and mudguard panel while neutral-toned Air unit bubbles appear at the midsole.
The Nike Air Jordan 4 Flyknit is set to release on June 14, 7 a.m. EST at Nike’s website in “University Red” and “Hyper Blue” for $220 USD.
