SSENSE has partnered with Versace Jeans Couture to exclusively relaunch the ’90s-bred denim line in North America, offering up a Fall/Winter 2019 selection that was inspired by archival designs and colorways. The collection released along with a special editorial shot by photographer Quil Lemons, who enlisted some of his close mentors from the creative world to model the lavish fits.
Alongside denim jeans and jackets, the assortment encompasses items such as graphic T-shirts, hoodies and polos in a streamlined palette of black, gold and white. Versace’s signature Barocco print makes several appearances throughout, adding the ornate gold pattern to the likes of drawstring shorts, short-sleeved button-ups and crossbody bags.
“When creating the new collection for Versace Jeans Couture I focused my attention on the juxtaposition of the apparently opposite worlds of denim and couture,” said Donatella Versace. “The idea I had in mind was to elevate streetwear not only in terms of quality, but most importantly in creativity and details.”
In conjunction with the launch, SSENSE Montréal has also curated an art installation entitled “REBIRTH at SSENSE MONTRÉAL.” The exhibition, which is on view now until June 20, chronicles the revival of Versace Jeans Couture through a series of 3D-printed sculptures and plexiglass panels.
The Versace Jeans Couture FW19 collection ranges in price from $75-$1,175 USD, and is available now on SSENSE.com.
