Fendi Distills Gardening & Bucolic Countryside Inspirations for SS20 Collection

Following its Fall/Winter 2019 showcase in Shanghai, Fendi has returned with its forthcoming Spring/Summer 2020 collection, this time taken to the showing just outside of the Italian label’s Head Quarters amidst the gardens of the Villa Reale in Milan.
The latest SS20 collection is made up of a range of olive palettes, detailed floral prints, burnished leather patinas, denim, brushed suede and thick gingham checks. From short-sleeve coveralls to semi-transparent raincoats, featured silhouettes include draping long coats, hunter jackets, military-inspired cargo pants, various suiting, boxy multi-pocketed shirts and textured cardigans. The overarching concept of the collection is informed by countryside gardening and the bucolic outdoors, taking form in muted color palettes reflective of nature.
Spotlighting the assemblage are the olive-toned long-coats, multi-paneled trousers, khaki shirts and black ponchos. One standout piece is the shearling long coat. Bearing a nylon exterior, vertical seams are lined in fleece in colors of creamy ecru white and brown hazel. Another highlight is a semi-transparent PVC shirt that’s emblazoned with various floral shapes. Six large pockets are placed at the front, while sizable lapels appear at the collar. As a finishing note, metal snap buttons are added to the epaulets as well as on the main midsection. Other notable pieces in the expansive collection include sleeveless leather jackets, billowing ponchos and asymmetrical knits.
