YG's '4Real 4Real' Is an Ambitious Ode to His West Coast Roots
All proceeds from the project will benefit the children of Nipsey Hussle.
Intended as a surprise drop, YG’s fourth studio album was unexpectedly delayed following the devastating death of Nipsey Hussle. After being pushed back on several occasions since then, the West Coast hip-hop icon and Compton native has released his long-anticipated album, 4Real 4Real.
Packed full with West Coast bops, YG’s latest album totes a signature Compton sound, relishing in a unique mixture of old school gangsta rap, nightclub bangers, and more. Well-placed features from R&B up-and-comers SAFE, Arin Ray, and Rose Gold mesh well alongside the harder sensibilities of YG and enlistees Meek Mill, Valee, Kamaiyah, G-Eazy, and others. More features include Boogie, DaBaby, RJ, Mitch, Ty Dolla $ign, Tyga, and Jon Z.
YG recently announced that the album would be dedicated to Nipsey, pledging all album proceeds to benefit the late rapper’s children.
