Taka Hayashi Remixes Vans' Style 138 Mid LX With Military Influences
Tactical textiles and a versatile color palette.
Longtime collaborators Taka Hayashi and Vans have rejoined for another joint effort, this time encompassing a duo of Style 138 Mid LX silhouettes. Hayashi’s familiar militaristic influences yield a muted pair of skate sneakers, complete with an array of premium details.
Offered in Military Green and Marshmallow, each Style 138 model sports sturdy detailing in an understated color palette. Both shoes sport thick rubber outsoles in earth tones, with suede and leather panels accenting the canvas uppers. Ridged rubber panels extend above the midsole towards the heel, as the Jazz Stripes extend around the back of the shoe across another suede patch. On the medial side, a Morse code-emblazoned patch reinforces the army influence.
Head to Afew’s site to pick up Taka Hayashi’s elevated skate shoes for €119.95 EUR (approximately $135 USD).
Most recently, Vans launched the collaborative Ralph Steadman collection.
