BAPE, Medicom Toy and Mika Ninagawa Debut Full, Color-Saturated Capsule Collection
50/50 Shark Hoodies and BE@RBRICKs join vibrant tees and clocks.

First seen earlier this month, BAPE, Mika Ninagawa and Medicom Toy‘s collaborative capsule has been fully revealed. Encompassing a variety of layering pieces and accessories, the goods are splattered with contrasting colors and patterns, drawing from each of the partners’ pursuits.
Ninagawa is a renowned photographer and film director, best known outside of Japan for her abstract floral photography. Currently, she’s serving as an executive board member for the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2020. Ninagawa’s striking imagery informs the capsule’s dynamic imagery, with BAPE’s signature FIRST CAMO juxtaposed against her photos across several clothing items and collectibles. This collaboration with BAPE and Medicom Toy falls under Ninagawa’s clothing imprint: m / mika ninagawa.
Half-and-half Shark Hoodies — complete with Medicom Toy branding and BE@RBRICK ears — join BE@RBRICK figures in highlighting the bold patterns, slicing up red, blue and yellow-tinged photographs with tonal camouflage. A trio of hoodies, BE@RBRICKs (in 1000%, 400% and 100% sizes) and stand-up clocks are accompanied by a selection of colorful tees, which see Ape Head motifs and Baby Milo imagery silhouetted with Ninagawa’s logo and flowers. Monochrome black and white tones emphasize the eye-catching graphics, which are printed on both normal and wide-cut T-shirts.
The collaborative range hits BAPE’s web store, Japanese outposts, Medicom Toy’s digital and physical stores on May 25. A global release is slated for June 5.
Most recently, BAPE remixed its iconic Roadsta.
