NIGO Teases 'Star Wars' x Uniqlo UT Collaboration with All-Star Designers
Designed by himself, UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi and WTAPS’ Tetsu Nishiyama.
Fresh from the Pharrell x Human Made x adidas Solar Hu Glide collaboration, NIGO has teased another round of Star Wars x Uniqlo UT T-shirts. As the creative director of the UT line, NIGO has the authority to bring two of his close friends — UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi and Tetsu Nishiyama of WTAPS — aboard to make the forthcoming Star Wars collection extra special.
Though Takahashi has linked with Uniqlo in the past for the short-lived “UU” collaboration, Nishiyama hasn’t yet joined forces with the casualwear powerhouse. Unfortunately, fans will have to keep waiting for a full look at the collaboration, as NIGO’s brief Instagram teaser only offers a look at a single tee, worn by NIGO himself. An illustration of Yoda strapped on the wearer’s back recalls the iconic training sequence in The Empire Strikes Back, while the front is emblazoned with one of the Jedi master’s classic maxims: “Do; or do not; there is no try.”
