A throwback colorway of LeBron James‘ signature shoe, the LeBron 16, has just surfaced. The early look of the kicks, courtesy of sneaker insider @US11, can be seen in the theme of Martin Lawrence’s popular ’90s television comedy sitcom Martin. The pair’s Battleknit construction is dressed in purple, black, yellow and orange which are the color palettes of the show’s intro sequence and title card. The official colors are actually called “Court Purple” and “Tour Yellow.” Furthermore, the Nike logo is done in a retro style embroidery as well.

The potential pair alludes to LeBron James claiming on Twitter that his favorite television show was Martin the series. He claims on the tweet: “I laughed so hard watching that show!!” The title has always been popular amongst TV comedy and Martin Lawrence fans and is often mentioned by many as one of the funniest programs of the ’90s.

As for the kicks, there hasn’t been an official announcement yet but a Footlocker calendar shows that a Lebron 16 in the “Court Purple/Tour Yellow” theme is slated to drop on April 16. It’s still a bit vague if that is the said pair but all signs point to a strong yes for this theme releasing on that date. Stay tuned with us as we receive more info.
