Dior's Pre-Fall 2019 Hajime Sorayama Collection: Clothing, Footwear and Accessories
We got up close with the lavish goods.

Dior‘s much-anticipated Hajime Sorayama-centric Pre-Fall 2019 yielded wallet-busting accessories months before it even hit the market. With the covetable goods finally available to buy, we took a closer look at the headline-worthy collection at the brand’s pop-up in Hong Kong, complete with 16-foot robot statue.
Though this is only the first delivery of the Pre-Fall 2019 menswear offering, key pieces included the Yoon-designed android jewelry and the instant-classic black high-top B23 Oblique sneaker. Elsewhere, Sorayama’s signature Sexy Robot designs accented T-shirts and Oblique-branded shirting alike, offset by ferocious cyborg T-rexes. One particularly fierce dinosaur is embroidered on the rear of a souvenir jacket, shooting lasers against a gentle sakura-heavy design.
The cherry blossom, sakura in Japanese, is a key feature of the collection, as it reflects creative director Kim Jones‘ well-established love of Japanese culture. Meanwhile, ALYX‘s Matthew M. Williams lent the collection a tactical edge, with his trademark rollercoaster buckles accenting sandals and bags alike, and influencing a T-rex-laden crossbody bag with removable pouches.
KAWS bees from Jones’ first collection returned, appearing on lightweight T-shirts and trim metal jewelry alike. Meanwhile, the house’s Saddle Bag joined a range of shoulder bags and backpacks, all offered in various premium makes, including grain leather and Oblique-printed canvas.
Shop select Sorayama-designed goods at Dior’s web store and boutiques now, and expect more Pre-Fall 2019 items to roll out via another delivery in the coming weeks.
Most recently, Dior introduced customizable Walk’n'Dior sneakers.
