Guns Are Drawn & Bullets Fly in First Official Trailer for 'Deadwood: The Movie'
Arriving on May 31 via HBO.
Returning after last month’s initial tease, the official trailer for HBO‘s much-anticipated Deadwood: The Movie has arrived. Returning to the iconic universe that the initial series created, which ran from 2004 to 2006, the trailer offers up a glimpse into the dynamic that will fuel the HBO Films‘ plot, involving all your original favorites such as Ian McShane’s pimp-laden entertainment entrepreneur Al Swearengen and Timothy Olyphant’s portrayal of the city’s sheriff, Seth Bullock.
The forthcoming film builds on the troubled relationship between the two characters as South Dakota is officially reigned in as a state in 1889, whereby California senator George Hearst, played by Gerald McRaney, attempts to clamp down on the city’s lawlessness and weak-handed authority. The trailer showcases a variety of new characters to help in bolstering the depth of the film, yet showcases the classic essence of the wild west that the original series was praised for.
