KAWS 'BFF' Stars in Kim Jones's First Dior Homme Campaign
The pink flower sculpture that debuted on the runway.
Kim Jones‘s first collection for Dior Homme debuted with an extensive partnership with American artist KAWS, whose famous BFF character appeared in the form of a 33-foot-tall pink flower sculpture on the Dior Men’s runway at Paris Fashion Week, as well as a miniature plush toy gift for guests.
Continuing this joint effort is Kim Jones’ first Dior Homme ad campaign, which sees the same flower KAWS BFF posing behind models, among which is Prince Nikolai of Denmark (in the blue and white striped suit). The new campaign is shot by Steven Meisel and offers another look at the upcoming Spring/Summer 2019 menswear collection due to release in December. The range features louche suiting, soft pastels and collaborative KAWS motifs, such as the recurring pink hue, the “Dior” lettering done in KAWS’s signature script, and the iconic Dior Homme bee logo reimagined as a cartoon character with “XX” eyes.
