A Backstage Look at Dior Men’s Futuristic Pre-Fall 2019 Show
Featuring a Sorayama collaboration and jewelry from Yoon.
Following on from the Tokyo show last week, take a closer look at Kim Jones‘ Pre-Fall 2019 collection for Dior in these backstage images. The focal point of the show – a huge Hajime Sorayama statue at the centre of the stage — is also referenced in the collection itself. The Japanese artist mixed his signature style, with robot women and dinosaurs, with Dior’s cherry blossom motif and monogram pattern.
The futuristic theme continued with new takes on the Saddle Bag — which comes with mechanical accents — and metallic fabrics used throughout the collection. Elsewhere, Dior’s Pre-Fall 2019 collection also saw Jones continue to work with AMBUSH’s Yoon on jewelry — including biomechanic-style pieces placed directly onto the models – while Matthew M. Williams returns, with his classic rollercoaster buckle featuring on belts, boots and bags.
