UPDATE: Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” Remix Feat. Billy Ray Cyrus Has Just Dropped
This is huge.
UPDATE: Lil Nas X‘s remix of “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, has just dropped. The artist went on Twitter to promote the remix, linking the Youtube video to it, which you can find above. The video features a still image of two fierce stallions — a fitting visual for this country-meets-rap song.
Original Story April 4, 2019: Billy Ray Cyrus will be featured on Lil Nas X‘s upcoming “Old Town Road” remix, Rolling Stone reports. Recruiting the veteran country star seems like a direct response to Billboard removing the song off the Hot Country Songs chart.
On Instagram, Cyrus showed support for “Old Town Road” last week, quoting the record in his caption.
“Been watching everything going on with OTR. When I got thrown off the charts, Waylon Jennings said to me ‘Take this as a compliment’ means you’re doing something great! Only Outlaws are outlawed. Welcome to the club,” Cyrus wrote.
Lil Nas X recently spoke about the controversy surrounding his song, saying that he doesn’t believe the removal of the record off the chart doesn’t have anything to do with race.
