New Featurette for 'Pet Sematary' Explains What Horror Truly Is
Inspired by the mind of the legendary Stephen King.
A new adaptation of Pet Sematary hits theaters next month and to hype up its premiere, Paramount Pictures released a featurette showcasing directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kölsch talking about the film and the great Stephen King.
In the footage above, we see the film’s cast and crew detail what makes the story of Pet Semetary so gripping. Co-director Widmyer also states: “If you want to make a truly terrifying movie you have to go back to the master of horror himself, Stephen King.” They also take the time to note that this remake will be faithful adaptation with only a few creative liberties here and there to keep fans of the original film and novel on their toes.
The plot synopsis reads as follows:
Pet Sematary is based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King which follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
