'DOOM' Is Getting Another Movie Adaptation
No Dwayne Johnson, sadly.
There was a DOOM movie in 2005 starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Karl Urban that was a less than faithful adaptation of the popular video game franchise. However, in this current era of faithful Hollywood adaptations, the game series is getting another revision in the form of DOOM: ANNIHILATION from Universal Pictures.
The synopsis reads: “DOOM: ANNIHILATION follows a group of space marines as they respond to a distress call from a base on a Martian moon, only to discover it’s been overrun by demonic creatures who threaten to create Hell on Earth.“
It has been quoted that “the film builds upon the legacy of the franchise,” and it was recently revealed by Dread Central that the marines have been confirmed as being the same UAC marine team from the video games.
