The Weeknd Trips Through Vegas in Hunter S. Thompson-Inspired "Heartless" Visual
Abel and Metro Boomin hit the Heartless Hotel and Casino.
After releasing two new singles last week as well as appearing in a recent Mercedes Benz campaign, Toronto superstar The Weekend has returned with a psychedelic-fueled visual for his Metro Boomin-laced cut “Heartless.” Clearly inspired by Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the Anton Tammi-directed video shows the two going on a wild adventure in Las Vegas at the Heartless Hotel and Casino. In one scene, Abel licks a toad and furthers his downward spiral via a bad trip.
Last week he also released the disco-centric “Blinding Lights” single, further levying hopes for a new studio album. Later this week, The Weeknd will perform on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on December 5 and 6, with next week offering up a cameo in the Safdie Brothers’ new film, Uncut Gems, which hits theaters on December 13.
